Bowls made for beauty, function
It's not hard to see how the Ramnarace bowls were made by the guy who helped design the Ford Mustang and Thunderbird.
The bowls (www.ramnarace.com) have the same melding of form and function, and are beautiful but sturdy enough to use daily.
The collection consists of three bowls and a coaster made of polished, recycled aluminum. All of the bowls and the coaster look somewhat like the hubs of tires, in a very different form. These items would be perfect for the automotive enthusiast who enjoys fine design.
The Mika bowl ($160) is geometric with unusual lines, inspiring Mustang memories.
The Stirling bowl ($150) resembles a spinning sun, looking more like it was inspired by the Thunderbird.
The Emerson bowl (price unavailable) is more open than the other two bowls, looking somewhat like an open hand, and would likely hold fewer things.
The Tazio coasters ($65) look the most automotive-inspired, and come in a set of four. The coasters would look good on their own but would probably make more sense next to one of the bowls.
