Registration begins for SHRM legal update The York County Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management will have its 2008 legal update from 10:45 a.m. to 5 p.m., May 15 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rock Hill. Featured speakers will be Kendra Thornton, Heather Ryan, Jonathan Crotty, Kim Bierenbaum, Mary Crosby and Shalanna Pirtle from the law firm of Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein. Shene to chair Total Resource campaign Andrew Shene has been named the chairman of the 2008 York County Regional Chamber of Commerce Total Resource Development Campaign. Shene, senior vice president and market executive with First Citizens Bank, will oversee the 10-week campaign with the goal of raising $125,000 in memberships, sponsorships and budget reduction items. Rocky Miller of Founders Federal Credit Union will serve as co-chair. A kickoff event will be June 3, and a victory celebration is scheduled for Aug. 21.
