AME ZION

Liberty Hill AME Zion Church, Lake Wylie: Reconstructing the Family conference, 9:15 a.m. today and 10 a.m. worship Sunday. Sessions will be for marriage enrichment, singles, youth and children. Free and open to the public.

Mount Vernon AME Zion Church, Fort Lawn: Senior Choir anniversary, 2 p.m. Sunday.

United AME Zion Church, Steele Street, Fort Mill: The Rev. Victor C. Wilson will celebrate his 16th year in the ministry at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Dinner after the service.

Ebenezer ARP Church, Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill: Annual congregational meeting, after worship Sunday. All-church prayer time, 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Thanksgiving service, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. No Wednesday program.

Neely's Creek ARP Church, Rock Hill: Moms at the Manse, 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Community Thanksgiving service, 7 p.m. Tuesday at Catawba Baptist Church. Christmas Festival concerts, 7 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 p.m. Dec. 6. A reception will be after each concert.

Operation Christmas Child: Local collection sites for filled shoe boxes will be through Monday at the following sites:

First Baptist Church, 481 Hood Center Drive, Rock Hill: 10 a.m. to noon today; noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday; and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

Eastview Baptist Church, 1430 Gordon Road, Rock Hill: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today; 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday; and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Monday.

In 2008, the Rock Hill area contributed 14,723 to the Operation Christmas Child effort. This year, organizers hope to collect 21,500 gift-filled shoe boxes from families, children, churches, schools and civic organizations in the area.

Bible Baptist Church, U.S. 21 Bypass, Fort Mill: Evangelist Bill Abbott and family will sing, and he will preach at 10 and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Boyd Hill Baptist Church, Glenn Street, Rock Hill: Annual scholarship program, 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Free Thanksgiving meal for those in need, Thursday. Call the church, 803-327-2422, for more information.

Calvary Baptist Church, North Jones Avenue, Rock Hill: The Rev. Russell Rogers of Trinity Life Baptist Church in Garland, Texas, will speak at the 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. services Sunday.

Eastside Baptist Church, North Jones Street, Rock Hill: Thanksgiving soup and dessert dinner, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Open to the community.

Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rock Hill: Free clothing giveaway, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today.

First Baptist Church, South Main Street, Clover: Outdoor Christmas drama, “A Visit to Bethlehem,” Dec. 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13. Hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Fridays, 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays, 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. The event is free and open to the public.

First Baptist Church, Dave Lyle Boulevard, Rock Hill: First Baptist will offer two “Surviving the Holidays” seminars in December. A GriefShare seminar will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3 in the church apex for those who are grieving loved ones who have died. A DivorceCare seminar will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in the church apex for those who are coping with a recent separation or divorce. Both seminars offer practical ideas and insights from Christian counselors, pastors and psychologists to cope with the holiday season. Participants also get a holiday survivial guide with more than 30 encouraging readings, helpful charts and tips. First Baptist Church, South Congress Street, York: Brunch with Santa, 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Dec. 5 in the fellowship hall. Cost is $6 per child and includes a picture with Santa, meal, crafts and a Christmas story. Adult meals are $6. There are a limited amount of tickets, and they can be purchased from 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in the fellowship hall or from PassportKids Campers. Proceeds will go to the children's mission camp.

Harmony Baptist Church, Harmony Church Road, Edgemoor: Lord's Supper, morning worship Sunday. WMU World Crafts party, 7 p.m. Monday. Week of prayer for international missions, Nov. 29 through Dec. 6.
