Main Street Live coming Thursday to Rock Hill

Main Street Live will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday in downtown Rock Hill. The Briar Creek Band will perform. Admission is free.

Bluegrass quartet to perform in York today

The Central Baptist Bluegrass Quartet will perform at 10 a.m. today at Trinity United Methodist Church, 22 E. Liberty St., York. Admission is free.

Trinity Christian hosts 'Bananas for Jesus'

Trinity Christian School will have a World Vision presentation of "Totally Bananas For Jesus" at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the school gym, 505 University Drive, Rock Hill. The free program is for elementary schoolage children through sixth grade.

Party planned for Brattonsville renovation

9-11 remembrance will be in Fort Lawn

A 9-11 remembrance program will be at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Fort Lawn Community Center, 5554 Main St. The event is sponsored by the center and by Richard Hulse, a retired volunteer firefighter from New York.

Fall livestock show to be Sept. 12 and 13

The 2008 York County Fall Livestock show will begin at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 and at 9 a.m. Sept. 13 at Triple Creek Farm, 700 Triple Creek Drive, Rock Hill. Admission is free, and food will be sold. For details, call 684-9919, Ext. 113.

Learn Scottish dance at local church classes

Martha Macdonald will teach the Highland Fling, a traditional Scottish dance, at 5 p.m. Sept. 7, 14 and 21 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 321 S. Oakland Ave., Rock Hill. Cost is a $10 donation per person to go to the children and youth building For details, call Pat at 980-4000.

Gardening classes offered on Fridays

Learn gardening techniques on the first Friday of each month from the Clemson Extension York County Master Gardeners during the First Fridays in the Garden series.
