NHS students to stage short plays

The other plays that will be performed include "Mooney's Kid Don't Cry," "The Dark Room," "The Case of the Crushed Petunias," "The Unsatisfactory Supper," "Summer at the Lake" and "Why Do You Smoke So Much, Lily?" Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults, available at the box office. The event is open to the public. Local art exhibit features work by Manco, Buike The Arts Council of York County has an exhibition of artwork by two Tega Cay artists on display through April at the City Hall Rotunda Gallery, 155 Johnson St., second floor, Rock Hill. Featured are paintings by Martha Manco and Marcia Kort Buike. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public. Coaches still needed for city soccer league Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism is still seeking volunteer coaches for its youth soccer programs, which begin this month. The recreation soccer program works with ages 5 through 13 and the competitive soccer league works with ages 10 through 15. Practices and games are typically held two weekday evenings at Manchester Meadows or at Cherry Park in Rock Hill. April 7 is deadline for student logo contest The U.S. Attorney's Office is sponsoring a logo contest open to any student enrolled in an elementary, middle or high school in South Carolina. The contest, Preventing Gun Violence at Your School, is designed to protect children from gun violence. Entries should be submitted on white unlined 8 1/2- by 11-inch paper. The overall winner will receive a $200 U.S. savings bond and the three additional winners will each receive a $100 U.S. savings bond. Entry deadline is April 7.
