The Light Factory presents a 40th anniversary showing of the horror classic "Night of the Living Dead," with special guest, director George A. Romero. Winthrop University's DSU Program Board is hosting a fun night of Irish music on campus. Come join in the fun, and enjoy the music of The Screaming Orphans at 8 tonight at Dinkins ATS Café ( The café will be open for beverages and snacks during the show). The Screaming Orphans include four sisters from Dublin, Ireland, whose show is a mix of Irish/Celtic standards, original songs and cover mixed with Irish drinking tunes. The price is $5 for students and $7 for others.

Saturday, February 21

It's your last chance to see the Queen City Theatre Company's presentation of "Spooky Dog and The Teen-Age Gang Mysteries," a play about a familiar gang of teen sleuths and their talking dog, at 8 p.m. at Duke Energy Theatre, 345 N. College St., Charlotte. The play contains adult language and is for mature audiences. Sunday, February 22

Bring the family to watch "The Imitation of Life" (PG) in celebration of black history on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the York County Library, Rock Hill. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.

A poetry reading will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at Augello's Coffeehouse & Delicatessen, Rock Hill.

It's a family friendly poetry reading and story telling event for all.

Thursday, February 26

Travel to fictional Kent, S.C., and meet the Clarks, an affluent black family that runs the local funeral home in "Blue," a play by York native Charles Randolph-Wright being performed at 7:30 p.m. at the Actor's Theatre of Charlotte, 650 E. Stonewall St.

"Blue" is about family, music and the experience of both together in a show that wraps you up in a warm theatrical blanket.

The show is presented by the Actor's Theatre, Levine Museum of the New South and Johnson C. Smith University. For more information, call 704-342-2251.

Winthrop University is hosting a homecoming talent show at 8 p.m. in Tillman Auditorium with MC-Southeast Collegiate Spoken Word Champion and Winthrop graduate Angelo Geter. It is free for students and non-students.

Friday, February 27

Among the movies hitting theaters today is "Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience" and "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li."

Winthrop will host a homecoming dance at 9 p.m. Feb. 27 in McBryde Hall. "Let the Good Times Roll" music will be provided by The Voltage Brothers along with Roaring 20's Old Time Photos by Spintacular. Lasts until midnight. Students and non-students are free.

Saturday, February 28

The local March of Dimes will present its 19th annual "Look Who's Cookin" benefit from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Baxter Hood Center at York Technical College in Rock Hill. The event will feature an island theme.

The event will include more than 30 dishes prepared by local "celebrity" cooks and an open bar. It also will include live and silent auctions, entertainment and dancing.

Tickets are $40 in advance -- available from all Rock Hill and Fort Mill Burger King restaurants, the March of Dimes and Hair by Stan and Co. -- and $50 at the door.
