The York County Quilters’ Guild has more than 150 members, and those members have created some masterpieces for this weekend’s show at First Presbyterian Church, corner of Main and Saluda streets, Rock Hill. According to show director Ann Alden, there are 141 quilts in the show, held every two years, and they reflect a cross-section of styles traditional and contemporary. It’s 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Saturday. Cost is $5; a portion of the proceeds goes to charity efforts at the Children’s Attention Home. Alden says there’ll be demonstrations on quilting every hour between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nationally known quilt expert Veronica Cox was scheduled to come, but Hurricane Ike forced her to cancel.
