Howard moved to South Carolina to start the family owned business, Palmetto Landscaping Supply in 2000 located in Rock Hill, S.C., where he enjoyed getting to know all of his customers while working with his sons. Howard enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Stapleton of 45 years; his sons, Howard Stapleton and Alan Stapleton; and his grandchildren, LeAnna Stapleton and Michael Stapleton.
