Sharon residents vote for mayor, council

Enquirer Herald

SHARON The 257 registered voters in Sharon will be asked to choose a mayor and four Town Council members in Tuesday's election.

Although every western York County town except York was scheduled for a municipal election this year, voters in Sharon will be the only ones who cast ballots outside S.C. House District 48.

That's because in Clover, McConnells, Hickory Grove and Smyrna, incumbents or the candidates who seek to replace them face no opposition.

Sharon voters are asked to decide whether to give Mayor Beverly Blair another term or to choose declared write-in candidate Denise Grace. Grace's name will not appear on the ballot.

The at-large race for the four Sharon Town Council seats is on the ballot because five people filed to run.

They are incumbents Kathy Montgomery and Johnny B. “Bob” Barnette and candidates Donald Kropp, Jeff Ramsey and Jerry Bradham. Lisa Bolin is a declared write-in candidate for the council, but her name will not appear on the ballot.

The four council members with the most votes will win the seats.
