Thieves use rocks to break into businesses
Rocks were used to break into two Rock Hill businesses last weekend, police say.
Early Saturday, a store manager noticed a tool set on the ground behind O'Reilly Auto Parts on East Main Street and saw the front glass door had been knocked in, according to Rock Hill Police reports.
The door appeared to be broken with a rock and kicked in. A softball-size rock was found near the broken door. The cash register had pry marks as if someone had tried to force it open. It is not known what, if anything, was taken.
Early Sunday, the Family Dollar on Albright Road was broken into by someone who smashed the front door, according to reports. Officers found a rock a few feet from the door.
Four or five Tracfones were taken from the store, valued at around $120, according to the report.
