A Rock Hill man won a $100,000 treat on Halloween.
Thomas Glenn bought a winning Winter Jackpot scratch-off lottery ticket at Quick C No. 106 in Rock Hill on Saturday, according to a release issued Tuesday by the South Carolina Education Lottery.
“I bought the Winter Jackpot ticket because it was one of the newer games, and I liked the bonus play areas,” Glenn said in the release. “I scratched the ticket and just stared at the $100,000 prize. I asked the store clerk to scan it, and then I realized I was a big winner.”
Glenn said his wife is in school with the help of a lottery-funded scholarship, the release stated.
Quick C #106 in Rock Hill receives a 1 percent selling bonus of $1,000.
Every retailer that sells a claimed ticket of $10,000 or more earns a 1 percent commission, according to the release.
Winter Jackpot is a $5 lottery scratch-off game that started Oct. 20.
There still are five $100,000 prize Winter Jackpot tickets left, according to the lottery's Web site.
