The Rock Hill High School marching band finished third in the Class AAAAA state championships Saturday at South Carolina State University.
Rock Hill's Band of Distinction turned in a bronze-medal performance in its program, “Olympus '09,” scoring 91.2 points as one of eight finalists.
Fourteen bands competed in the AAAAA division on Saturday at S.C. State's Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
Wando High school took first place with 94.675 points, followed in second by Boiling Springs with 91.975 points.
Joe Gulledge directs the Band of Distinction, which finished as a silver medalist in 2008.
