Body found in Lake Wylie woods

York County sheriff's deputies and the coroner Sunday evening were investigating the identity and cause of death of a man found in the woods near Lake Wylie on Sunday afternoon.

"It's too early to say," said sheriff's Capt. Jerry Hoffman, who declined to say how long the body appeared to have been in the woods or provide more details on the exact location. "He had not been there for an extended period of time."

Hoffman would not give a description of the man or his clothing or say whether he appeared to have been the victim of foul play.
