A 56-year-old Chester man died in a one-car crash on Sweet Hope Church Road, 12 miles west of Chester, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Jerry Wayne Dove was driving a vehicle that ran off the left side of the road, over corrected and then went off the right side of the road and struck a tree around 8:20 p.m. Monday, said Lance Cpl. Jeff Gaskin of the patrol. Dove was trapped in the vehicle, Gaskin said.

Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said a toxicology report is pending.

Further details about the crash are not available at this time.
