YORK — A CrimeStoppers tip led authorities to a York man during a drug probe, police said.

Authorities charged Octavius Conneil Neely, 23, of 772 Rock Castle Road with possession with intent to distribute crack, third offense; possession of crack in the proximity of a park; possession of marijuana, third offense; and unlawfully carrying a pistol, according to Mike Ligon of York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit.

The charges stem from a drug probe Wednesday at 309 Washington St., about a half-mile from a Magnolia Street basketball court. Around 10:20 p.m., authorities found Neely with about 6.7 grams of crack and 3 grams of marijuana, according to a report from York County Sheriff’s Office.

Police also recovered a Glock .45-caliber pistol from beneath his seat, the report notes.

Neely could face up to 25 years if convicted for possession with intent to distribute crack, third offense, Ligon said. On Thursday, he was released on a $20,000 bond.
