A Rock Hill man was jailed Wednesday after police said he robbed another man who was walking in his neighborhood.

Police charged Jarius Dejuan Burris, 19, of 615 E. Main St. with armed robbery and possession of marijuana, said Capt. Mark Bollinger of the Rock Hill Police Department.

Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, a 28-year-old man was walking in his neighborhood when he was approached by a man wearing dark clothes, Bollinger said.

"He demanded the victim's money and indicated he had a gun," Bollinger said. "The victim gave him $80."

Police said the man, later identified as Burris, fled on foot. He was located within minutes of the robbery about three blocks away, Bollinger said.

The victim's money was recovered, police said.

Burris remained in custody Wednesday night at Rock Hill City jail.
