INDIAN LAND — A company that acts as a go-between for mortgage companies and delinquent homeowners plans to build its headquarters and bring as many as 300 jobs to Indian Land, state officials said today.
That’s a bit of good news for Lancaster County, where the 12.1 percent unemployment rate in October was the ninth-highest in South Carolina — up from 10.5 percent from a year ago.
The 42,000-square-foot headquarters for Titanium Holdings Inc., the parent company of Titanium Solutions, will be in the office tower of the Edgewater Office Park near the intersection of U.S. 521 and S.C. 160 in Indian Land, the S.C. Department of Commerce announced.
Over the next five years, the company plans to bring up to 300 new jobs to the area, just east of Fort Mill.
“Fort Mill is an attractive area for both businesses and families, so we are excited to partner with the South Carolina Department of Commerce in order to bring Titanium Holdings to the area,” said Tamara Buie, senior vice president of human resources at Titanium Holdings. “The close proximity to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the experienced workforce that the Fort Mill and Charlotte areas offer were key reasons for the selection of the new location.” Titanium Solutions, calls itself a "home retention consulting company" that works with mortgage companies and homeowners in default and in danger of foreclosure.
According to its Web site, the company's goal is to "get the homeowner and mortgage servicer back in communication to find a way to avoid foreclosure."
Titanium representatives contact homeowners on behalf of the mortgage company to talk to them about alternatives to foreclosure, including reinstating the existing loan, loan modifications and relocation.
“The in-person home retention counseling that Titanium Solutions provides is a vital service in today’s economic market,” said Patrick Carey, CEO of Titanium Holdings and Titanium Solutions. “This new location will allow us to continue supporting our clients and partners, and expand our services and product offerings. The new employees will allow us to rapidly address other areas of need within the industry. As we continue our strategy of prudent growth, we look forward to being an important partner in the community.”
Lancaster County Council Chairman Rudy Carter is excited about what this means to the county.
“The investment and creation of 300 good-paying jobs is welcome in this period of economic downturn and continues our success in attracting good paying jobs in the customer service, call center and back office markets,” he said.
