Clint Morris

COLUMBIA -- Mr. Samuel Clinton "Clint" Morris, 94, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Brian Center Nursing Care in Columbia, S.C.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, with Dr. Phillip Jones officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.

A native of York County, Mr. Morris was the son of the late Dalma V. Morris and the late Nancy Poag Morris. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and was retired from Rock Hill Printing & Finishing with 40 years of service. He was the last surviving charter member of West Main Church of the Nazarene, now Trinity Church of the Nazarene. He was the widower of Mildred Small Morris, Helen Goodwin Morris and Ada Spenella Morris.

Surviving are his sons, James D. Morris (Virginia) of Columbia, and Ronnie W. Morris (Judy) of Statesville, N.C.; his sisters, Pansy Culp Ratterree, Dot Costner and Lucille Thompson, all of Rock Hill; three grandchildren, Jamie Barrett (Mike), Kelley James (Max) and Amanda Tuggle (Doug); and six great-grandchildren, Neil, Nick and Nathan Barrett, Anna James and Krista and Jake Tuggle.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Building Fund, 546 South Cherry Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
