Mr. Clinton was born Aug. 17, 1942, in York, S.C., to the late Henry Blease and Margaret Louise Barrett Clinton.

He is survived by a sister, Gayle McCarter of Clover; his daughters, Mindy Curtis of Dover, Tenn., Sammie Shepherd of Ashville, N.C., and Melissa Vaughn of Macon, Ga.; a son, Michael Wood of Texas; his nephews, Ernest L. Benfield Jr. of Clover and Thomas M. Benfield of Kings Creek, S.C.; and a niece, Cindy Hickok of York.

The family will receive friends at 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home, Clover. The memorial service will be private.
