closeFORT MILL -- Richard L. Potts Sr., 88, of Fort Mill, S.C., passed away June 28, 2008, in Melbourne, Fla.
He proudly served his country as a pilot and missile expert in the U.S. Air Force, from which he retired. He came to Florida in 1957, with the love of his life, Evelyn Wilder, who was his soul mate and wife for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters and wife. He is survived by his son, Richard L. Potts Jr. (Saralinda); brother, J.B. Potts; sister, Rosa Osborne; grandchildren, Richard L. Potts III, Nina Velazquez (Tony); and two great-granddaughters, Laney and Olivia Velazquez.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008, at Stowers Funeral Home in Brandon, Fla. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
