SHELBY, N.C. -- Mr. Robert " Bob" Clyde Harmon, 51, of Christopher Road, Shelby, N. C., died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at his home.
Bob was born in Spartanburg County, S.C., to the late Robert Lewis Harmon and Janice Raines Harmon of Rock Hill, S.C. He was employed at Hubbell Lighting as a manager of Rework & Return. He was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church in Rock Hill. He enjoyed coaching baseball teams at City Park, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He was Coach of the Year l997 and his baseball team won the championship in 1997 and 1998 at City Park.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Stewart Harmon.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving wife of 30 years, Alice Moss Harmon of the home; his daughter, Nikki Harmon of the home; sisters, Deborah Harmon Parris and husband, Lou, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Tammy Harmon Hailey and husband, Chuck, of Rock Hill; mother-in-law, Nancy C. Moss of Shelby; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Mickey Heywood officiating. Burial will be at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Shelby. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby. At other times the family will be at the home.
