YORK -- Margaret Hawkins Owen, 69, of 956 Owens Road, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2008, at Bratton Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Sprinkle will be officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of York, S.C., Margaret was a daughter of the late Marshall Neil and Ida Parker Hawkins. She was a member of Temple Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Marshall Owen; best friends, Donald and Sara Black; three adopted grandchildren, Tammy Black, Gene Black and Amber Shaver and two adopted great-grandchildren, Taylor Shaver and Tosha Shaver, all of York; and a brother Robert Hawkins and wife, Nell, of Clover, S.C. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and three brothers, George Hawkins, David Hawkins and James Hawkins.

Visitation will be held at Bratton Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m.
