CHESTER -- Mrs. Vera Louise Roach Lawson, 88, widow of Robert Smith Lawson, died Saturday, July 19, 2008, at her home, 115 Nella St.
The funeral was held July 21 at Parkway Baptist Church, with the Rev. R.B. Ashley officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Lawson was born March 21, 1920, in Union, S.C., a daughter of the late Samuel T. and Myrtle Hudson Roach. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Don Lawson and wife, Pat, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Bobby Lawson and wife, Vicki, of Chester; two daughters, Phyllis Caughman and husband, Tommy, of Clinton, S.C., and Lynda Blanchett and husband, Robert, of Chester; seven grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur Roach of Mooresville, N.C. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Berry Lawson; a brother, Sam Roach; and a sister, Lillie Hossack.
The family received friends July 20 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester.
