KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Hattie Mae Hagans, 90, of 5201 Battleground Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2008, at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Clover, S.C. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.
Mrs. Hagans was born Feb. 27, 1918, in Gaston County, N.C., to the late Lemuel and Annie Flume Compton. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who loved to cook, quilt and garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert James "Robbie" Hagans and her eldest son, Robert James "Jim" Hagans Jr.
Survivors are brother, Fred Compton of Gastonia, N.C.; sisters, Carrie Hagans and Annie Jane Hardin, both of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Gertrude Chaney of Gastonia; sons, Tom Hagans and wife, Myra, Jack Hagans, Dickie Hagans, Larry Hagans and wife Kelly, Ken Hagans and wife Libby, all of Kings Mountain, Jeff Hagans and wife, Ethel, Jerry Hagans and wife, Vickie, and Bill Hagans, all of Clover, S.C.; daughters, Linda Hagans, Jean Yarborough and husband, Pete, Lois Moody and husband, Dell, Rita Franks and husband, Ronnie, all of Kings Mountain and Sue McLean and husband, Charles, of Clover; sister-in-law, Mary Hagans Seay; 21 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Hattie had a special place in her heart for Jamie Setzer, Stanley Currence, Neil Phillips, Roger and Steve McCarter, Todd Fields, Frank Farris, Randy Benton, Danny Hartsoe and Robert Neelands.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at M. L. Ford & Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cleveland County, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
