closeCHESTER -- Mrs. Betty Hollifield Hurst, 74, of 588 Penn Lake Road, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Joanne Hawkins officiating. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.
Born Sept. 10, 1933, in Chester, Mrs. Hurst was the daughter of the late Lawson and Alice Wilson Hollifield. She attended schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, John W. Hurst; three daughters, Debbie Henson, Carolyn Wessinger and her husband, George and Linda Reynolds and her husband, Larry, all of Chester; two sisters, Peggy Matthews of Rock Hill, S.C., and Ruth Watts of Apopka, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John W. Hurst Jr.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
