closeROCK HILL -- Mr. Johnny Miller, 84, died Nov. 26, 2008, at Piedmont Medical Center.
Mr. Miller was born April 19, 1924, in Rock Hill, S.C., the son of the late John Miller and Isabella Brown Miller. In 1951, he married Carrie White-Miller of Rock Hill and raised seven children.
He retired from Springs Industries in 1991 after working as a truck driver for 19 years. He was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Lesslie, S.C. Mr. Miller loved to work with his hands, tell a good joke and spend time with his family.
Left to celebrate his memories are his wife, Carrie Miller of Rock Hill; four children, John W. (Jannie) Miller of Rock Hill, Elroy N. (Jacqueline) Miller of Spartanburg, S.C., Dianne (James) Lindsay and Jacqueline Austin of Rock Hill; two sisters-in-law, Martha Dashiell and Fannie B. White of Maryland; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Rosa Chisholm, Perry Miller and Tammie Miller; and grandchild, Tomorta Norwood.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Hebron Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Clemons-McCray Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
