LANCASTER -- Mrs. Annie Jackson Lowry passed away Nov. 26, 2008, at Lancaster Convalescent Center in Lancaster, S.C., being obedient to the will of the Master, she answered the call and went quietly to sleep.

Born in Chester County on May 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Jackson.

Confessing Christ at an early age, she joined the St. Paul Baptist Church in McConnells, S.C. Shed attended the York County schools and later attended York Technical College.

She began her professional career as a registered nurse with Dr. Dunlap in Rock Hill, S.C., for a number of years.

She was united in marriage to the late Deacon John C. Lowery. She united with Mount Prospect Baptist Church, where she served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Deaconess Ministry, was a Sunday School teacher and was in the Fellowship Choir and Pastord Aide Club. She was also associated with the Daughters of Light OES No. 151, Cross Road Church Aide Society, Treasurer of the Washington and Miller Street Club and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFX.

Everlasting memories will be always cherished by her nephews, James (Bernice) Jackson and Melvin Jackson; a niece Patricia Jackson Roberts all of Chester, S.C.; three sisters-in-law, Willie Lowry of McConnells, Bessie Lowry of Pineville, N.C., and Lugenia Tucker of Columbus; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mount Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
