closeROCK HILL -- Ms. Roxie Eliza Shipman Benson, 90, of Rock Hill passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at the home of her granddaughter
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, with the Rev. Andy Putnam officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park - Cherry Road.
A native of Hendersonville, N.C., Ms. Benson was a daughter of the late Elzie Shipman and the late Ella Mae Summey Shipman. She attended Cedar Street Church of God and retired from J. P. Stevens, Industrial Plant. Ms. Benson loved to read and loved gardening. In addition to her parents, Ms. Benson was preceded in death by her daughter, Frankie J. Norton and eight brothers and sisters.
Ms. Benson is survived by her grandchildren, Janis Bryant, David Bryant, Bobby Nichols and Jerry Nichols; 10 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1 until 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.
