York County high school marching bands took three of the top four spots at the Class 4A state marching band championships Saturday, with Fort Mill's marching band scoring the highest.
Fort Mill finished in first place in its class with 93.8 points, according to results posted on the state's marching band web site, bandlink.org.
Northwestern High School's band took second place with 90.65 points, and Clover High School's band finished fourth with a total score of 88.675.
White Knoll High School finished in third place.
These teams competed Saturday in the band state championship at Batesburg-Leesville High School.
The Fort Mill Times is reporting that Nation Ford High School finished in first place in its division. Other class results were not available Sunday.
Bands are judged based on musical effort, percussion, the flag team and visual performance. These scores are combined to chose a winner.
