The late Tommy Davis received the Distinguished Alumnus award.

Davis, a graduate of York Technical College, served in the U.S. Army in both Vietnam and Korea. After returning to his hometown of Chester, he went to work for Springs Industries — working his way from the factory floor to the front office as personnel manager. He later held similar positions at other companies in the Southeast. From 1990 to 2006, he was the employee relations manager for F. Schumacher & Co. in Richburg.
