LeVeen-Sumner

Fearrington Gardens, Chapel Hill, N.C., was the setting Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009, for the marriage of Beverly Grayson Sumner of Gastonia, N.C., and Andrew William LeVeen of Manhasset, N.Y.

The Rev. Dr. Lennig Frye Jr. officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony. A reception followed at The Barn at Fearrington.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ernest Sumner III. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Ernest Sumner Jr., of Rock Hill and the late Dr. Robert Ernest Sumner, Mrs. Thomas Eugene Wilson of Rock Hill and the late Mr. Thomas Eugene Wilson.

Grayson graduated in 2002 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed by Morgan Stanley in New York, N.Y.

The bridegroom is the son of Ms. Christine LeVeen of New York, and the late Mr. Jeffrey LeVeen. He is the grandson of Rosalie Christine Friedmann of Vero Beach, Fla., and the late Mr. Francis Friedmann and the late Mr. and Mrs. William LeVeen.

Andrew graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2000 and is employed by Weeden and Co., Greenwich, Conn.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Matron of honor was Elizabeth Adams McMillan of Charlotte, N.C. Maid of honor the bride’s sister, Elizabeth Price Sumner of Columbia, S.C.

Bridesmaids were Ann Phillips Barringer, Virginia Freeze Murray, both of Raleigh N.C., May Everette Burns, Carolyn Sithoff Hallett, Elizabeth Ann LeVeen, Kerry Hurley McCooey, all of New York, Alisha Winters Cann of Gastonia, Martha Katharine LeVeen of Chatham, N.J., Kristen Cullen Sumner of Charleston, S.C., and Ashley Sexton Turner of Columbus, Ga.

Honorary bridesmaids were the bridegroom’s sisters, Kathryn Lee LeVeen and Margaret Lynn LeVeen, both of New York.

Flower girls were Mackenzie Grace LeVeen of Chatham and Caiden Elizabeth Sumner of Charleston.

Best man was the bridegroom’s brother, Jeffrey Earle LeVeen Jr., of Chatham.

Groomsmen were the bride’s brothers, Robert Ernest Sumner IV and James Kinnison Sumner, both of Charleston, Bruce Alexander Barnett, Robert Francis Mabry, Herbert Joseph McCooey II, Ryan Bradley Oelkers, William Patrick O’Neill, Anthony Michael Robustelli, all of New York, Thomas Ward Cullen IV of Los Angeles, Calif., Shane William Heald of Columbus, Ohio, Andreas Martin Huber of Garden City, N.Y., Patrick Emmett Ross, Daniel Patrick Reibling, both of Mineola, N.Y., and Daniel John Stroka of Boston, Mass.

Ring bearer was Jeffrey Earle LeVeen III of Chatham.

Greeters were Kathleen Igoe Boyle and Timothy William Crowley, both of New York.

Readers were Moira Eileen Donahue of New York, Parks Robert Lineberger of Charlotte, and Bryan Sanford Lonsinger of Verona, N.J.

Crucifer was Charles Edward Friedmann and accolyte was Ellen Rose Friedmann, both of Rye, N.Y.

After a honeymoon in Mexico, the newlyweds will make their home in Greenwich.
