McCoy-Shiflet

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Lee McCoy of Pawleys Island, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter, Maxi Elle McCoy, to John Mark Shiflet, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman Shiflet Jr. of York, S.C.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 28, 2010, at The DeBordieu Club, Pawleys Island.

Miss McCoy is the granddaughter of Mr. Chester McCoy of Alabaster, Ala., and Ms. Yvonne Little McCoy of Kenova, W. Va., and Mrs. Elwood Gene Gibson of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and the late Mr. Gibson.

Miss McCoy is a 2009 graduate of the College of Charleston were she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. She was also a Cougar cheerleader. Miss McCoy is employed as a gym director of The Little Gym in the Charleston area.

Mr. Shiflet is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Coleman Shiflet and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Gentry, all formerly of Ninety-Six, S.C. He graduated from Furman University and is currently a senior at Charleston School of Law.
