closeRose of Sharon Baptist Church, Rock Hill: The Male Group at Rose of Sharon has partnered with Carolina Community Actions to start a fatherhood/male involvement program for children in the Head Start Program. Today, the group will volunteer from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to paint classrooms.
St. John Baptist Church, Sharon: Second annual Christian Men's Fellowship Conference, 7 p.m. June 6 with a youth explosion and 9 a.m. fellowship breakfast with U.S. Rep. John Spratt, D-5th District, and a panel discussion "The State of the Black Male in 2008. Where do we go from here and what will our mission be?" afterward. Panelist include Dr. Lonnie Randolph, Dr. Russell W. Booker, Dr. Darlington Hart, John Gregory, the Revs. Lenard Price and Persell Ross. The conference will conclude at 10 a.m. worship June 8.

Unity Baptist Church, Hickory Grove: Gospel singing with the Singing Echoes, 6 tonight under the oaks on the lawn, weather permitting. The youth will sell hot dogs and hamburgers beginning at 4 p.m.
Woodhaven Baptist Church, Marrett Boulevard, Rock Hill: Churchwide visitation, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Relay for Life, 7 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. May 31 at the Belk Track at Winthrop University.

St. Anne Catholic Church, Bird Street, Rock Hill: Diocese of Charleston Youth and Family Day at Carowinds, June 14. Tickets are $47 and include a lunch buffet and unlimited soda. For those with season passes, a ticket for the buffet and unlimited soda is $18.50. Tickets are available through May 31. Confirmation ceremony, 7 p.m. June 10. Reception afterward.
