  • Art fair planned in Hickory Grove weekend after Thanksgiving

    The Hickory Grove Art Fair will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29 at Mount Vernon Methodist Church, 2160 Smith Road, Hickory Grove. Artwork to be featured includes pottery, jewelry, baskets, glass, textile arts, woodworking, paper, metal, drawings, paintings, photography and other items.

  • Aladdin bringing his famed lamp to York stage

    The Yorkville Players will present a new version of "Arabian Nights" at 8 p.m. Oct. 10, 11, 17 and 18 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 12 and 19 at McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York.

  • Popular musician LaMotte making Winthrop stop

    Appalachian folk musician David LaMotte will perform at 8 tonight at Dinkins Underground, Winthrop University. Cost is $7 or $5 with Winthrop I.D.   • Come out for barbecue, bluegrass

    The fourth annual Anne Springs Close Greenway Barbecue and Bluegrass Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Dairy Barn, 288 Dairy Barn Lane, Fort Mill. The event includes live music and barbecue samples from 25 competing cook teams. Tickets are $10 adults; $5 children ages 6 to 12; free for children 5 and younger.   • York County's livestock show set for weekend
