Chester Little Theatre offers 'Chapter Two' with dinner

Chester Little Theatre will present a dinner theater production of "Chapter Two" by Neil Simon at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Feb. 20 and 21.

"Chapter Two" is an adult-themed play about a recent widower encouraged by his younger brother to start dating again. After many bad matches, the widower meets his not-so-young lover, Jennie Malone, and the two begin overcoming their hesitations on rebounds and emotional neediness.

Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers; reservations are required. Details, call 803-377-1101.

Take time out to celebrate Valentine's Day

In the spirit of the Valentine's Day season, several groups have plans:

-- The Hickory Grove VFW will host a Classic Country Dance and Music Show from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday. The VFW is located at the corner of S.C. 97 and Legion Road in Hickory Grove. Cost is $5. -- B.R.O. Ministry of Out Pouring Ministries of Chester presents a Valentine Celebration: An Evening of True Love at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Union Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Dinner, dancing, spoken word and picture packages are available. Cost is $12 for singles and $20 for couples. Tickets are available at the door. Details, call 803-374-3892.

-- The Carolina Chordsmen chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society will host a quartets singing Valentine's Day weekend. Quartets will be traveling through the area Friday and Saturday and will sing to for the man or woman of your choice. They will also present a rose and a personalized greeting card. Fort Mill YMCA offering the following events

-- Community Health Screenings will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Ultrasound tests will be used to determine the risk of stroke due to carotid artery blockage, abdominal aoritic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, atrial fibrillation and osteoporosis. -- Registration for Acting Up! Performance Art Experience begins today for ages 6 to 16. This is a 10-week course that ends with an onstage musical production. Space is limited. -- Wilson Consulting Associates has partnered with The Homeownership Resource Center, a nonprofit organization created by Congress to provide financial support, technical assistance and training for community-based revitalization efforts, will offer a mortgage foreclosure intervention and loss mitigation counseling assistance clinic to homeowners. The clinic will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Lancaster Public Library, 313 S. White St., Lancaster.
