Van Wyck community ready to celebrate this weekend

The Van Wyck Community Club will have its 10th annual Celebrate Van Wyck Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Community Center, 5036 Old Hickory Road, Van Wyck. The family event includes live music, a business and travel show, vendors, children's activities and more. Party downtown tonight

Main Street Live will be from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. today in downtown Rock Hill. The Briar Creek Band will perform. Admission is free. For details, visit www.yorkcountychamber.com.

Take in 'Cinderella'

An adaptation of the classic fairy tale "Cinderella" will be at 8 p.m. Friday and 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday at the former Chester Little Theatre on Wylie Street, Chester. The Children's Theater of Chester, a part of the Chester Little Theater is presenting the show. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children. For reservations, call (803) 377-1101.

Pageant will be Saturday

Conlon concert free

The York County Library will have a free family event to introduce the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to York County. Event time is 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at the library, 138 E.
