The Fort Mill High School Drama Department will present “Story Theatre” by Paul Sills at 7 p.m. Saturday in the F wing auditorium at the school, 225 Munn Road, Fort Mill.

The show features 13 stories involving peasants, maidens and talking animals from the world of Aesop and the Brothers Grimm. Tickets are $5 adults and $3 students at the door.

Civil War event planned at Brattonsville

A Civil War reenactment will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells. The event includes cannon-firing demonstrations, camp life activities, firearms presentations and children’s military drills. Cake designer to give demo at library on Thursday

Jef Bailey, a local cake designer, will create a white holly Christmas cake using fondant artistry and answer questions from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the York County Library, 138 E. Fort Mill to host art, craft festival

Downtown art center is hosting new exhibits

The Center for the Arts has these exhibits on display:

• An exhibition of ceramic works by artists Jennifer Kincaid, Allison Luce and Alyssa Wood, through Oct. 29 in the Dalton Gallery at the center, 121 E. Main St., Rock Hill. These artists have unique and varying styles that come together to create a visually complex and beautiful show.

• Elementary Student Art Show through Oct. 29 in the Edmund D. Lewandowski classroom.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the second and fourth Saturday of each month and 2 to 4 p.m. the second and fourth Sunday of each month.

Gospel fest, youth concert planned by local churches

These area churches will have events:

• Union Baptist Church will have a Gospel Dream Fest at 5 p.m. Saturday in the Community Family Life Center, 1195 Hands Mill Highway, Rock Hill. The event will feature the Pearls of Faith of Timmonsville and other acts. Tickets are $10 adults and $5 children ages 10 and younger. For tickets call 366-1556.

• All Nations Church, 360 Hammond Road, Fort Mill, will have a youth concert for ages 12 and older, Engage, at 7 p.m. Saturday. There will be live music by Jay L. and MAFIA, prizes, a DJ, games and hot dogs. Admission is free. For details, call (704) 543-7272.

Local theater groups have shows to announce

Local theater groups have news about their shows:

• The Community Playhouse of Lancaster County will present the musical comedy “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change” at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Oct. 17 and 18 and at 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at Stevens Auditorium, the University of South Carolina-Lancaster, 476 Hubbard Drive.
