There's music tonight in Rock Hill

Heavy Sandwich will perform from 7 to 10 tonight at the Gettys Center Courtroom, second floor, 201 E. Main St., Rock Hill. The group will play songs from its album and new material. Civil War re-enactment being staged this weekend

A Civil War re-enactment will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Historic Brattonsville, 1444 Brattonsville Road, McConnells. The event includes cannon-firing demonstrations, camp life activities, firearms presentations and children's military drills. Lancaster community theater play this weekend

The Community Playhouse of Lancaster County will present the musical comedy "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Stevens Auditorium, the University of South Carolina-Lancaster, 476 Hubbard Drive.

Come listen to tales at night at Fewell Park

The Firelight Fright Tale telling festival will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Fewell Park, 1204 Alexander Road, Rock Hill. Featured storytellers will be Marc Batten and Rixon Lane. Chester hosting Hillarity downtown this weekend

Hillarity 2008, downtown Chester's Festival on the Hill, will feature the following events:

• A barbecue sale, 10 a.m. Friday at Bethel United Methodist Church social hall.

• A kickoff celebration featuring music by the Fantastic Shakers, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Summit, 134 Main St., Chester. Tickets are $25 for non-members and $20 members. For tickets, call (803) 581-2222.

Shakfest brings home scenes from Shakespeare

The Pine Tree Players and the Fairfield County Museum present Shakfest from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Pine Tree Playhouse, Congress Street, Winnsboro. The annual event features booths, games, performances of Shakespeare's scenes and more. Tickets are $5 adults and $3 for children younger than 12.

Relive the drama of radio with 'Wonderful Life'

The Yorkville Players will have auditions for "It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play" from 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 20 and 21 at McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York.
