4-H poultry show will be Saturday in Chester

A 4-H poultry show and sale will be Saturday at the Chester County Farmer's Market, 116 Columbia St., Chester. The poultry show will be at 9 a.m. and the auction will be at 10 a.m.

BooHaHa is tonight

The seventh annual BooHaHa will be 5:30 to 11 p.m. today in downtown Rock Hill. Free trick or treating will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. along Main Street.

The event includes a costume contest, inflatable rides and games, a haunted trail, food vendors and movie showings in the Old Town Amphitheater at City Hall on Black Street.

There are enough festivals to go around

These festivals, carnivals and other entertainment events are happening:

• Faith Family Christian Center Fall Harvest Festival will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the church, 3483 Homestead Road, Rock Hill. The event includes face painting, hay rides, hot dogs and more. For details, visit www.faithfamilycc.com.

• United Methodist Women's Fall Festival will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1550 St. Paul Church Road, Clover. The event will include a silent auction. Food will be available for purchase.

Take a nature walk Saturday

The Katawba Valley Land Trust will have a nature walk beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Rocky Creek Nature Trail, Great Falls. The walk will be led by KVLT naturalist Austin Jenkins.

Area churches schedule concerts

These churches are having concerts:

• The Disciples and Central's Trio will perform a concert of traditional gospel music at 6 p.m. Sunday at Grace Presbyterian Church, 2955 S.C. West 160, Fort Mill. The Disciples and Central's Trio are a music ministry of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. Admission is free. Donations are accepted.

• Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church will have a festival of hymns, poetry and music on the themes of Love and Justice as part of its annual Music at Oakland concert series at 7 p .m. Saturday at the Church, 421 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill. The concert will feature Vince Cross, a musician, composer and author. The event is free. Make plans now for Nov. 13 Holiday Affair

Historical society will discuss local artist

The Yorkville Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. today at the McCelvey Center, 212 E. Jefferson St., York. Dr. Robert Walker of Rock Hill will present a program on John Gettys Smith, a locally born artist and historian. Plans for the 2008 Christmas in Olde York historic home tour will be discussed. The meeting is open to the public.
