Woman's Club hosting holiday Victorian Tea

The Woman's Club of Rock Hill will host a Victorian Tea at 3 p.m. Dec. 4 and at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 at the historic Armstrong-Mauldin House, 607 Aiken Ave., Rock Hill. The event is part of ChristmasVille and includes carolers and servers in Victorian dress. Reservations are required by Dec. 1. Tickets are $20 per person. For tickets, call 803-328-8888. Take time Sunday for choral concert

The York County Choral Society will have a fall concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakland Baptist Church, 1067 Oakland Ave., Rock Hill. Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 seniors and $5 students. For details, visit www.yorkcountychoralsociety.org.

Area churches are having holiday bazaars

• Mount Prospect Baptist Church will have a Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the church annex, 339 West Black St., Rock Hill. Christmas crafts and baked goods will be sold.

• The United Methodist Women's Circle I of Mount Holly United Methodist Church will have a bazaar from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Family Life Center, 1996 Mount Holly Road, Rock Hill. The event features breakfast, homemade soup and cornbread. Eat-in or take-out is available. Baked goods, RADA knives, flavorings and greeting cards will be sold.

Holiday-related events planned at MYCO

The Museum of York County, 4621 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill, will have the following events:

• Museum store open house, 5 to 8:30 p.m. today.

• Vernon Grant ornament and Christmas card unveiling, 10 a.m. today.

Area churches announce these events

• Inspiration Baptist Church on Comer Road, Rock Hill, will host a Thanksgiving dinner for those who are homeless and in need of a meal or a friend from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. To reserve meals or for more details, call 803-329-2467, 803-230-0244 or 803-230-2475.

• Cornerstone United Methodist Women will have its annual Cookie Walk from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church, 2697 Heckle Blvd., Rock Hill. A box of cookies is $6. Vendor items, food and drinks will be available.

• Jubilee Christian Center will have a gospel concert at 11 a.m. Sunday at the center, 2105 Old York Highway. Gospel recording artists High Expectations from Boiling Springs will perform. • St. Anne Catholic School celebrates the Americas from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday in the school's family life center, 1698 Bird St., Rock Hill. The event is a conclusion to the celebration of geography awareness week. The event will feature Catawba Indian dancing and drumming, a presentation on the people of the Amazon by Professor Chacon, a musical presentation by the school's fifth-to eighth-grade choir, food, art displays and crafts. The public is invited and may come dressed in costumes from any culture found in the Americas.

Come-See-Me organizers want nominations

The Come-See-Me Festival is seeking nominations for the 2009 Community Service Merit Awards. The award is given to five men, women or youth who have made a difference in their communities through volunteer service.
