Man dies in Lancaster County wreck

LANCASTER — One man was killed and two others injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster County.

The S.C. Highway Patrol said the collision happened about 4:15 p.m. on S.C. 5, about 2 miles east of the York County line.

According to the highway patrol, an eastbound 2003 Dodge pickup truck being driven by a man from Gaffney, S.C., collided with a 2003 Nissan SUV also headed eastbound.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

Troopers say the driver of the Nissan SUV jumped from the vehicle and fled after the wreck. Police are looking for that man.

Three passengers were inside the van, and one of them, a man from Rock Hill, was killed in the crash. Authorities have not released his identity. The other two passengers suffered injuries that were described as not life-threatening.

There are no reports of charges being filed in the case, and the highway patrol has not said why the vehicles collided.
