Buford dominates Indian Land

Published: August 25, 2007

BUFORD -- Indian Land coach Mike Mayer summed it up. "Buford dominated us on both sides of the line."

Buford's offensive line opened holes for Greg Witherspoon, and its defensive line had Indian Land's quarterback, Carl Watson, on the run all night. Their dominance led to a 23-0 win for Buford.

Buford showed off the dominance of its offensive line on its very first drive. Witherspoon broke a tackle and dashed 44 yards to quickly make it 7-0.

Indian Land's second drive was probably its best all night. It ended when Watson completed a 17-yard pass to Luke Lambert, but Lambert fumbled at Buford's 20-yard line.

The only other score of the first half came when Buford mounted a drive inside Indian Land's 30. As the half expired, Jojo Morris kicked a 44-yard field goal that barely made it over the crossbar for a 10-0 halftime lead.

The second half was more of the same.
