DURHAM, N.C. -- The Durham Bulls rapped out 12 hits, including four home runs, en route to a 7-1 win over the Charlotte Knights on Wednesday.
Bulls right fielder Justin Ruggiano hit a solo home run off Charlotte starter Esteban Loaiza in the bottom of the first inning, setting the tone for the evening. Dan Johnson scored on an RBI groundout by Elliot Johnson in the fourth inning, then Ruggiano and Dan Johnson hit back-to-back home runs off Lance Broadway in the fifth.
The Knights finally answered in the top of the sixth inning, when Cole Armstrong's single to left scored Jason Bourgeois, who led off the inning with a single, then stole second.
