SOUTH POINT (N.C.) RED RAIDERS at CLOVER BLUE EAGLES

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: South Point, John Devine; Clover, Jet Turner

Records: South Point was 12-2 last season, Clover was 13-2

Last meeting: Never played

Regions: South Point Big South 3A/4A; Clover 3-AAAA

RANKING: Clover is No. 8 in the preseason Prep Writers Poll

Radio/INTERNET: FM 107.1, 7 p.m.

Directions: Take Heckle Boulevard to Newport and turn right on S.C. 274. Take 274 to Five Points and take S.C. 55 into Clover. Turn off Highway 55 just inside Clover onto Clinton Street and the stadium is down the road on the right.

Of Note: South Point, like Clover, likes the running game. FB Aaron Crumbley and 1,515 yards and 19 TDs last year. QB Desmond Lowery ran for 1,436 yards and passed for 716 ... Is Clover WR/DB Chris Lindsay recovered enough to play? ... Ricky Moore and Tyron Douglas are the power in the Blue Eagles' wing-T.

FORESTVIEW (N.C.) JAGUARS at NATION FORD FALCONS

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Forestview, Chris Medlin; Nation Ford, Rusty Jester

Records: Forestview was 4-7 last season; Nation Ford was 3-8

Last meeting: Forestview won 28-8 last season

Regions: Forestview Big South 3A/4A; Nation Ford 3-AAAA

Radio/INTERNET: AM 1340, FM 94.3, 7 p.m.

Directions: Take U.S. 21 to the stop light at Harris Street outside Fort Mill. Turn left onto Harris, then take a right on Munn Road. The Bob Jones Stadium is located behind Fort Mill High School.

OF Note: Forestview runs out of the I-formation, and the Falcons will see toss sweep all night ... Nation Ford's big three -- TB Tony Hall, WR Dee Truesdale and QB Joey White -- are ready to rumble.

CHESTER CYCLONES at UNION CO. YELLOW JACKETS

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Chester, Maurice Flowers; Union County, David Lipsey

Records: Chester was 12-3 last season; Union County was 9-5

Last meeting: Chester won 16-0 on the Class AAA playoffs

Regions: Chester 4-AAA, Union 3-AAA

RANKING: Chester is No. 7 in the preseason Prep Writers Poll, Union Co. is No. 8

Radio/INTERNET: WRBK-FM 93.5, 6 p.m.

Directions: Take McConnells Highway to Bullock's Creek and turn left onto S.C. 49 south. Follow 49 into Union to the Duncan bypass in Union. Turn right and the stadium is on the left.

OF Note: Chester is strong and fast ... New faces to watch are QB Tony McNeal and WR Devin Jackson, the fastest of the fast ... Union was hit hard by graduation, and Lipsey has two options at QB -- Nick Monroe and Keiston Stevens.

GREAT FALLS RED DEVILS at GILBERT INDIANS

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Great Falls, Kenny Schofield; Gilbert, Barry Harley

RECORDS: Great Falls was 11-3 last year, Gilbert was 7-4

Last meeting: Never played

Regions: Great Falls 3-A; Gilbert 3-AA

RANKING: Great Falls is No. 8 in the preseason Prep Writers Poll

Directions: Take I-77 to Columbia and get take the I-277 interchange. Get off at the I-20 exit and go to exit 44 and turn right by the truckstop. Go toward Gilbert and turn left onto Stadium Road before reaching town.

OF Note: Great Falls is a senior-laden team and is led by Josh Lynn, who is drawing interest from several DI schools ... Schofield graduated from Gilbert in 1980 ... Gilbert has one of the top RBs in the state in Marco Anderson -- 185 carries for 1,520 yards and 24 TDs last year.

CAROLINA PRIDE LIONS at LEWISVILLE LIONS

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Carolina Pride, Henry Leopard; Lewisville, Floyd Drum

Records: Carolina Pride was 6-6 last year, Lewisville was 7-4

Last meeting: Never played

Regions: Carolina Pride Independent private school; Lewisville 3-A

RANKING: Lewisville is No. 10 in the preseason Prep Writers Poll

Directions: Take I-77 South toward Columbia. Get off at the Fort Lawn-Chester exit (S.C. 9) and turn left back over the bridge. The school is located on Highway 9, which runs through Richburg.

OF Note: Carolina Pride's top player is WR/LB Sky Lesh, who is getting notice from Clemson, Bucknell and Appalachian State ... Lewisville is led by QB Isaiah Johnson and DL Hakeem Moore.

WESTMINSTER CATAWBA INDIANS at N. RALEIGH KNIGHTS

7:30 p.m.

Coaches: Westminster Catawba, Ben McGarity; North Raleigh, Glendon Dillard

Records: Westminster was 4-6 last season, North Raleigh was 1-10

Last meeting: North Raleigh won 37-22 last season

Regions: Westminster Catawba is an at-large team in the MAC Division II; North Raleigh is also in the MAC?

Radio/INTERNET: None

Directions: Get on I-77 and go north. Merge off I-77 and get on I-85 in Charlotte at exit 13 towards Greensboro. Get off 85 at exit I-40 E toward Raleigh. Take the I-540 E exit, exit 283, toward US-70/NC-55/Apex. Merge onto I-540 E via the exit on the left toward US-70. Take Capital Blvd./US-1 N via exit 16 toward Wake Forest. Turn right onto Perry Creek Road and it leads to the school.

OF Note: Westminster Catawba has a new coach in McGarity and a new QB in Ian Brandt ... North Raleigh QB Nathan Miller rushed for 621 yards and 13 TDs last season. He passed for 1,009 yards and 5 TDs.
