Knights win in 10

- Staff Reports

FORT MILL -- Charlotte's bullpen came to the rescue to help keep Norfolk at bay with a 2-1 win over the Tides. Five Knights pitchers combined to pitch 10 innings after scheduled starter Lance Broadway was a late scratch.

The bullpen scattered four hits and struck out 12 as Franklin Germain (2-2, 3.94) picked up the win for Charlotte.

Outfielder Jason Bourgeois' RBI single in the bottom of the 10th brought home Jason Tyner to give the Knights their second straight win over the Tides. Charlotte has won five out of its last six games.

The Knights continue their series with the Tides today. Tomo Ohka (5-11, 4.01) will take the mound for Charlotte. Craig Anderson (6-8, 6.47) will get the start for the Tides. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
