A story on Thursday's front page incorrectly described Rock Hill High School's performance under the federal No Child Left Behind law. Rock Hill High gained ground this year. The school hit more achievement targets than last year.

Plane's takeoff location was unclear

The pilot killed in a small plane crash Thursday in southern York County took off from a grass strip about a mile from the home of County Councilman Curwood Chappell. The strip does not belong to Chappell. Information provided to The Herald was unclear.
