FORT MILL -- Mr. Albert Leon Wilson, 80, died Sunday, January 4, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Pineville.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at Belair United Methodist Church in Indian Land, with the Rev. Gayle Summey officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Born in Rock Hill, Mr. Wilson was a son of the late Benjamin Tillman Wilson and Vallie Pettus Wilson. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Wilson retired from Celanese Corp. He was a member of Belair United Methodist Church and also Indian Land Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Gerald Roberts Jr., Heather R. Parker and Christa Gibbs; and three great-grandchildren, Emily Kate Parker, Logan Reid Parker and Benjamin David Gibbs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia White Wilson; his daughter, Jan Wilson Roberts; two brothers, Ben Ray Wilson and Charles Lamar Wilson; and his sister, Dorothy Rodgers.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Wolfe Funeral Home.
