CLOVER -- Stephanie Dover scored eight of her career-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to help Clover to a 58-48 win over Rock Hill.

Dover, a senior center, is playing her best basketball just as region play is ready to begin. She was named to the Shootout by the Sea all-tournament team in North Myrtle Beach prior to Christmas.

"This was a huge game for (Dover). She has progressively gotten better," Clover coach Mike Pearson said.

The game was tied at 41 with 5:50 to go. Rock Hill's Maggie Rogers, who led the Lady Bearcats with 14 points, knotted the score with a free throw.

Clover's Jaclin Poole scored in the paint to give Clover the lead for good, 43-41. Dover followed with a pair of free throws and a bucket off an inbounds play. Iesha Wade drove for a layup, and Clover led 49-41 with 2:30 left.

Clover (4-6) missed nine of its first 11 foul shots but zeroed in when it counted most. The Blue Eagles made 11-of-15 from the line down the stretch.

Poole finished with 12 points, while Wade and Rachael Newmister added 10 each.

LaQuesha Crockett hit three 3-pointers in the game for Rock Hill and scored 13 points. Her 3-pointer in the final minute made it a three-point game, but Clover closed it out from the free-throw line.

Rock Hill (6-6) won 36-34 when the two teams met in early December. The Lady Bearcats came from behind for that win.
