This year's North-South All-Star Wrestling Classic will be held at North Myrtle Beach High School on March 5-7.
The format has a new wrinkle this year. The South Carolina Wrestling Coaches Association picked an all-star team that will take on the top seniors in their weight classes from Georgia. The classic is the second-longest of its kind behind the Dapper Dan Classic in Pennsylvania.
It was begun by coach John Checkovich of Brookland-Cayce High School back in 1989.
On March 6 at 6 p.m., the North and South teams wrestle, followed by the Team S.C. vs. Team Georgia dual match.
Fort Mill's Brandon Feix and Rock Hill's Chad Beck were selected for South Carolina's team. The North all-star team includes Rock Hill's Josh Tuck, South Pointe's Ra'mon Truesdale, Fort Mill's Thomas Mockridge and Indian Land's Dillon Creed.
Fort Mill's Chris Brock is one of the head coaches for the North.

• WRESTLING II: OK, we got it wrong in the excitement following Rock Hill's thrilling 28-24 win over Fort Dorchester for the Class AAAA state championship on Saturday at Ridge View High School.
Rock Hill's Chase Ballard won it for the Bearcats on the final match of the night. Rock Hill led 25-24 and winning the 145 pound match would bring home the big gold for his team.
It wasn't Rodney Scott who Ballard beat. He beat Ashley Bracklein, a transfer from Summerville. Bracklein placed third at state at 135 pounds last year.
• REGION 4-AAAA: The All-Region 4-AAAA boys basketball team has been released and South Pointe's Dwayne Hartsoe was named coach of the year.
The player of the year is Spring Valley's Ronald Zimmerman.
The votes taken by the region's coaches were evenly split when the newcomer of the year was picked. The honor went to Spring Valley's Corey Miller and Blythewood's Dominique Perry.
Herald-area players selected to the team were South Pointe's Tre Erby and Cory Kessler, Lancaster's Xavier Holloway and Garrett Thompson and Rock Hill's Jatavius Stewart.

Josh Lynn had a big night. A 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end who signed with Furman, Lynn was named defensive lineman of the year. He played in the North-South Game, was the Region 3-A co-player of the year and was a first-team Herald All-Area pick.
MICAH: Chester's Micah Wessinger has gone into the S.C. High School League record book by making 30 consecutive free throws this season.
That put Wessinger at third place in the state, just under former York standout Ivory Latta, who had 34 consecutive free throws in her high school career.
8TH GRADE: The 8th-grade girls basketball team at Rawlinson Road Middle School completed its season last week with a 15-0 record.
