Fight at Rock Hill school bus stop ends in arrest

- The Herald

Witnesses at a Rock Hill school bus stop pointed police to a 15-year-old girl who jumped another student before the bus came Thursday morning, leading to her arrest, police say.

The girl told police she struck an 11-year-old. She was charged with simple assault, fighting and assault and battery, a Rock Hill police report states. Thursday’s fight was in retaliation for another altercation that happened the day before, police reported. The 11-year-old victim fought another girl at Independence Elementary School on Wednesday, leading to the fight at the bus stop at Patriot Parkway, according to the report.

Officers spoke with both mothers about the incident and served a summons to the 15-year-old girl and her mother to appear in Family Court.
